Piloted by Vodafone; one of the biggest phone makers in the UK, the scheme means that you can text a number and pay for your journey from your phone credit of monthly phone bill, to avoid being left out in the cold.
The cabs will be decorated with the union jack and have one last way of usurping someone who is too sizzled to work it all out; the cabs will be fitted with phone charging stations in case of a flat battery drama. All you will need to do is text the word taxi, the registration number and the amount that you owe to a dedicated number, and the money will be deducted from your bill.

We have already made hundreds of improvements to increase coverage, capacity and reliability to ensure Londoners can always stay in touch with friends and family. Now with our fantastic fleet of Union Jack cabs and their on-board chargers which anyone can use, all Londoners will be able to see our continuing commitment to the capital.’
In times of austerity and with phone giants battling to retain their customers, this is a great idea and a brilliant way for commuters and inhabitants of London to make their journey without the worry of having to face the long walk home.
